Do I have to purchase aÌýmeal plan as a commuter?
- Meal plans for commuters are optional
- While it is not required for commuters to have a meal plan, they can purchase one here for 5 meals per week which can be used at any 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ Dining locations

Where can I park on campus?
- There are two parking decks available for students to park in throughout the year. Here is a campus parking map to view.
- Make sure to either hang your parking decal or pay for daily parking to avoid any tickets or citations.

Are students excused for religious observances?
- Yes, students can be excused for religious observances, even though the university does not cancel classes for non-federally recognized religious holidays. Students MUST always notify their instructors in writing about any conflicts between course requirements and religious observances in as much advance notice and time as possible.
- Ideally, this notification should be submitted by the end of the second week of class, but no later than two weeks before the anticipated absence.

Where should I go if I am feeling sick or under the weather?
- 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ Health Services by CityMD is located first floor of Maple Hall (200 Warren Street, Newark) - On campus options
- Off-campus options would include a visit to CityMD Urgent Care at 617 Broad Street, Newark
- In case of an emergency or serious medical issues, head to St. Michael's Medical Center or University Hospital both located near campus

Are there any public computers for commuters? Can I print at these locations?
- Yes, there are over across 16 computing labs on-campus with a wide range of software, printing options and other unique features.
- GITC, Fenster Hall, Student Mall Lab, Honors College Residene Hall & Van Houten LibraryÌý
- Each lab is accessible with your 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæDM account, and many offer lase printing and specialized software for coursework.

- 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ offers more than 140 student-run clubs that span interests like tech, culture, arts, service, religion, careers and more!
- Welcome Week, Student Involvement Fair, Homecoming, and much much more! The Office for Student Involvement and Leadership plans many programs and campus traditions, plus they can help you get more connected to an area you are interested too!
- Become a club officer, join student government (Senate), volunteer or participate in leadership workshops and conferences. 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ hosts a tradition every May called Highlander Awards to recognize outstanding student leaders.

How do I rent a locker?

Renting a locker at 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæÌýis a simple process designed to make campus life easier for commuters on the go.
- Go to Information Desk on 1st Floor of Campus Center
- Must have your physical 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ ID as it is a requirement for registration
- Provide your own lock. If you do not have, the 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ Bookstore sells them too.
- Lockers are assigned per semester only and MUST be cleared out at the end of each semester.
- Lockers are located in Campus Center Lower Level

Is there public transportation available for 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ?
- 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ is well connected by public transportation, making it easy for students, faculty, and visitors to get to campus without a car.
- Light rail & subway access (Newark Penn Station, Warren Street stop, Newark Light rail, Broad Street Station)
- including routes 28, 31, 62, 67 & 107
- NJ/Rutgers Shuttle (free shuttle service between 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ and Rutgers-Newark (MUST have 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ ID to ride)

Can commuters park on campus overnight?
- ​Commuters cannot park overnight be default - overnight is defined as 1:00 AM-5:00 AM, Monday through Friday

Since there are restrictions for commuters, 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ has also made limited exceptions as well
- Resident students, staff, and faculty with valid permits can park overnight in designated areas.
- Commuter MUST request an exception by submitting the overnight parking exception form to Campus Center Operations (Room 105) or the Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life (Room 493) explaining the reason
- If approved, you'll receive a temporary overnight pass. Decisions are final and typically processed within 72 hours.
