Built in 1911, Colton Hall is one of the oldest buildings on 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ's campus. The five-story building has tall 14-ft high ceilings, reflecting its original purpose as a factory. The hall was named after Charles A. Colton, who was the first director of the Newark Technical School.
The current building for the College of Architecture and Design at the New Jersey Institute of Technology opened in 1998 as part of a construction or renovation project at 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ. A soaring "kinetic" atrium at the entrance connects the old and new buildings while preserving the identity of each. It provides an educational environment that makes it a pleasure in which to teach and learn.
The 220,000-square-foot 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ Wellness and Events Center provides flexible program spaces that will promote the health and well-being of our students, as well as support their academic pursuits, connect the campus to the professional community, and deliver training facilities that will enhance the development of our Division I student-athletes.
