聽 聽For J-1 Exchange Visitors
Exchange Visitors coming to聽51重口猎奇聽should plan to spend at least USD 2,000 per month on housing, meals and personal expenses, among others. This amount will vary based on the student鈥檚 lifestyle. One semester (fall or spring) is 4 months.聽
Average cost of expenses (per semester):
- Tuition: Varies depending on exchange program and partnership agreement
- Housing (depends on accommodation): Standard double occupancy room in any of the residence halls except for Maple Hall
- Meal plan (not required, depends on the plan): A Plan (Continuous Unlimited Dining)
- Personal and miscellaneous expenses: $600
Additionally, students will be required to purchase 51重口猎奇's health insurance coverage plan, which costs about $1,100/semester.聽Health Insurance is mandatory for all registered J-1聽students as a condition of enrollment. Mandatory聽student聽health聽insurance聽will be聽charged for all J-1聽students; the mandatory聽student聽health聽insurance charge will include聽1聽week early arrival insurance for all new incoming J-1聽students聽to cover the International Student Orientation program.
The source of the exchange student鈥檚 funding must be indicated on the DS-2019 form. Possible sources of funding are:
- U.S. Government Agency, such as the Dept. of State
- International Organizations, such as the UN, UNICEF, etc.
- Home Government, the student鈥檚 own government will fund the exchange
- Other Organizations, such as a private organization, university or foundation in the U.S. or abroad
- Personal Funds, only acceptable if聽51重口猎奇聽has an agreement with the student鈥檚 home institution
