Placement Test Registration
Congratulations on your acceptance to 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ! The Office of Placement TestingÌýis excited that you will be joining us!
We are committed to making sure you are placed in the courses that are commensurate to your level of preparation and career goals.
For the Spring 2026, 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ will implement a hybrid placement assessment policyÌýthat integrates standardized test scores with in-person evaluations. Please see the following instructions below to access the registration form that best applies to your situation.Ìý

All incomingÌýstudents mustÌýtake the English and Math placement assessments unless you are exempt*. In order to obtain access to the placement assessment, you must claim your at least 48 hours prior to date of yourÌýassessment if you have not already done so. Note: Please access the registration form using your 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ email address.
- English Placement Assessment
- English Placement EssayÌýtakes approximately 50 minutes
- English Placement SurveyÌýtakes approximately 20 minutesÌýÌý
- Completion of both sections,ÌýEssayÌý & Survey,Ìýis essentialÌýforÌýappropriate course placement.
- Math Placement Assessment
- Math Placement Assessment Ìýis approximately 2 hours and is divided into three sections:
- Basic Algebra (25 problems, 30 minutes), Advance Algebra (25 problems, 30Ìýminutes) and Trigonometry (30 problems, 45 minutes)Ìý
- No calculator usage allowed and all sections must be completed for appropriate placement
- Completion of all three (3) sections is essentialÌýforÌýappropriate course placement
