TheÌýOffice of the Dean of StudentsÌýcreates opportunities to engage and support students, both in and outside of the classroom, through general advising, advocacy, special programs, problem-solving, and implementation of theÌýCode of Student ConductÌýand policies underÌý. Students seeking absence verification or who wish to report academic integrity, bias, student conduct, Title IX and sexual misconduct, and other concerning or threatening student behavior may do so online.Ìý
TheÌý51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ CARE TeamÌýis a campus resource led by the Office of the Dean of Students dedicated to assisting students who may be in distress or experiencing challenging life circumstances. If you or a peer is in distress, please submit a report which can be anonymous.
51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ also ensures the protection and equal treatment ofÌýpregnantÌýstudents and students with pregnancy-related conditions.Ìý Students are encouraged to contact theÌýTitle IX CoordinatorÌýto discuss reasonable modifications.ÌýÌý
TheÌýOffice of Prevention & AdvocacyÌýis committed to the eradication of dating and sexual violence by providing confidential support, educational programming, and centering survivor autonomy at 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ.
TheÌýCenter for Counseling and Psychological ServicesÌý(C-CAPS)Ìýprovides high-quality, confidential, culturally sensitive mental health services that help students with the transitions and stresses of college life and more serious psychological concerns or crises. Staffed byÌýpsychologists, professional counselors, and social workers, C-CAPS' services include individual counselingÌýand psychotherapyÌýfor a wide range of concerns such asÌýacademic, personal, and family concerns, addictions, interpersonal difficulties, trauma, careerÌýconcerns,Ìýa variety of counseling/psychotherapy groupsÌý(drop-in and therapy groups),Ìýand limited psychiatry services.
CampusÌýHealth & Wellness ServicesÌýoffers efficient, high-quality health care for all 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ students, faculty, and staff. Services include access to CityMD Urgent Care, located on the first floor of Maple Hall, and the Center for Peer Wellness Coaching, located at the corner of Warren Street and Colden Street (behind 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ's Smashburger).

Students have unlimited access to theÌýMantra HealthÌýCare Hub, an all-in-one digital platform for student mental health and wellness needs. Services include self-care, peer support,ÌýprofessionalÌýcoaching, 24/7 crisis, and specialty care. Enrolled students also have access to 12 telehealth therapy sessions annually with an experienced provider.
Enrolled 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ students also have access toÌýUWillÌýfor unlimited ½ hour telehealth therapy services, and crisis services including evenings and weekends at no cost.
Ìýis a suite of online tools for life skills education, well-being, resilience, and behavioral health, with content available 24 hours a day. TAO allows students to learn new skills, develop coping strategies, and deal with mental health-related struggles in their own time and at their own pace in total privacy.Ìý
Peer Wellness CoachingÌýsupports students' optimal well-being by empowering them to make decisions, set goals, and take action to experience a satisfying life balance. Services are provided by specially trained student coaches under the supervision of the Center for Counseling & Psychological Services and Campus Health and Wellness Services. Peer Wellness Coaching is not a substitute for professional counseling or health services.
Ìýis an online health and wellness magazineÌýthat provides college students the latest health and wellness updates. This monthly, interactive online resource covers topics to help, such as nutrition and exercise, reducing stress, and the secrets to academic success.Ìý
Financial Wellness
TheÌýOffice of Student PersistenceÌýprovides a professional, friendly, and safe environment for students to express concerns and receive support. The office strives to identify and assist in resolving hardship-related issues that may impede or impact students' ability to register for classes and complete their degrees.​Ìý
The 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæÌýHighlander House is open to all 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ community members who may have trouble affording or accessing a healthy diet. The Pantry is located on the 4th floor of the Campus Center in room 480.Ìý Students with a valid 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ ID are welcome to visit the pantry twice weekly.Ìý EmailÌýfoodpantry@njit.edu orÌýwaff@njit.eduÌýin order to have access to make appointments online!
Students experiencing an emergency situation and needing financial assistance are invited to submit a request to theÌýHighlander Emergency Fund. Approved students may be issued up to a maximum of $500 annually.Ìý
51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ will assist students with unforeseen financial situations by providing payment plans or financial counseling. The Hardship Committee is composed of administrators from the offices of Finance, Financial Aid, Dean of Students, Academic Affairs, and the Bursar. This committee reviews all applications submitted and decides to accept or reject the appeal as submitted. ClickÌýhereÌýto learn more or to submit an application.
