51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ TEACHING AND COMMUNICATION SKILLS WORKSHOP
This workshop is designed for international PhD students who will be serving as new Teaching Assistants (TAs) at 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ in Fall 2025. It focuses on developing essential teaching and communication skills necessary for success in this role. To this effect, the workshop includes an assessment of the TAs' spoken English. More details will be shared on this website as the date of the workshop approaches.
It is recommended, though not required, that all new international PhD students entering 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ in Fall 2025 with an RA (Research Assistantship) award attend the workshop since they must also possess a high level of English communication skills.

Attendance:
Mandatory for all international students receiving a TA award for the first time in Spring or Fall 2025.
Recommended for all international students entering 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ with an RA award in Fall 2025.
Participants must attend all three days.
UCAN Orientation: On Wednesday, August 27th, new TAs must attend the UCAN Orientation event. Details will be emailed to TAs during the summer.
