Update Highlander Pipeline with local address and personal email address to receive up to date information about the commencement ceremony and diploma distribution.
International students: SEVIS regulation requires International student's permanent address to remain the one from the student's home country. This rule does not apply to the designation of local address. If the student wishes to continue to receive communication from 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ post graduation, please make sure the local address reflects the most current US address. Please reach out to the Office of Global Initiatives with any questions regarding the SEVIS regulation.

- All May candidates participating in the Commencement ceremony must complete the Diploma Verification form in Highlander Pipeline.
- Highlander Pipeline: Student Academic Services card then click on the Diploma Verification Form.
- Monitor your 51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ email account for Commencement eligibility information.
- The deadline to complete the Diploma Verification Form is April 15th.
Master's & Ph.D. hooding Ceremony - May 20, 2026 at Bloom Wellness and Events Center
Undergraduate Ceremony - May 22, 2026 at Prudential Center
- Students that graduated in August 2025 that did not participate in the May 2025 Commencement Ceremony are welcome to join us.
- December 2025 graduates are welcome to join us.
- May 2026 potential graduates and eligible August 2026 potential graduates are welcome to join us.
Students and family should visit the regularly, to be informed of all the latest updates and meet critical deadlines.
Students wishing to use their preferred name for the ceremony must send the request in writing to Commencement@njit.edu by April 15th, 2026.
Grad Fair
51ÖØ¿ÚÁÔÆæ Wellness and Events Center
May 7th, 2026 from 9am - 4:00pm
All participants can pick up the materials needed for the Commencement Ceremony, ie. caps, gowns, academic honor distinction medals, etc. The Graduation Fair is for Ph.D. students, graduate students, and undergraduate students.
- Undergraduate students who believe they have exceptional circumstances and should be able to participate in the Commencement Ceremony can submit an appeal.
- Students below a 2.5 GPA are not eligible to appeal.
- Students finishing their courses in the Fall are not eligible to appeal.
- If approved, you will have permission to participate in the ceremony. You will not be a May graduate, you will graduate and receive your diploma after you finish all courses in August.
- This form is only for students who have not already received approval.
- The link can be found in pipeline under the Student Academic Services card.
- The deadline for Undergraduate Commencement Appeals is March 20th.
Graduate Commencement Appeal
- Master & PhD Candidates: Appeals are handled directly by the Graduate Studies Office. Their deadline is April 10th, for exceptional circumstances email gso@njit.edu
Graduation Date
May 22, 2026 - Official Graduation Date reflected on official transcripts.
Final Graduation Certification is the responsibility of each Academic Department and takes place within 4-6 weeks after the official graduation date.
Diploma Distribution Information
- Diplomas will be mailed directly to the graduate by Parchment. Student's will receive an emailed with instructions and information in July.
